LICENSURE

Quest Nursing Education Center, Florida is a private institution located in Tampa, Florida and licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education. Quest Nursing Education Center is approved by the Florida board of nursing and licensed by the department of education to offer two RN programs (ADN) and (BSN).

OTHER STATE REGISTRATION:

Quest Nursing Education Center, Florida is registered with the California Bureau of Private Post Secondary to enroll students from California in it’s Florida Program. 

The institution enrolls students from California and Florida in its Florida RN program.

DEGREES AWARDED

Quest Nursing Education Center offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree and the Associate of Science in Nursing Degree. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing requires successful completion of the general education and nursing courses to obtain the 120 semester credit hours required for the degree. The Associate of Science in Nursing requires successful completion of the general education and nursing courses to receive the 74 semester credit hours required for the degree. Degrees are awarded contingent upon student completion of all the necessary coursework, course hours, academic and clinical competencies, compliance with institution procedures and regulations, including resolving any outstanding institutional charges of fees or misconduct.

Quest Nursing Education Center offers the following programs:

  1. Associate of Science in Nursing- RN Program ( Hybrid program) 

Two tracks: ADN Program:  

1. Accelerated ( 12 months)  

2. Generic Program ( 24 months)      

  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing- RN program  ( Hybrid program)

Two tracks: BSN Program:  

 1. Accelerated ( 12-15 months)  

 2. Generic Program (24 months)  

Advanced placement track students ( LVNs/LPNs/RNs) Accepted with credit granted for nursing courses taken. Please note: The cost of the program is the same for all pre-licensure students even if the student is an advanced placement student.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE:

Theory courses are online and may include synchronous (ZOOM) and asynchronous formats.

Clinicals are held in block schedules; 2 weeks at a time concurrently with theory during the term/semester. 

Example:

ADN students will have 3 – 4 on campus/clinical visits of 2 weeks each visit to Florida every quarter. For example, 1 visit ( Jan- Mar), visit 2 ( April- June) Visit 3 ( July- Sept)  Visit 4 ( Oct- Dec) 

BSN students will have 4 – 5 campus/clinical visits of 2 weeks each. For example, 1 visit ( Jan- Mar), visit 2 ( April- June) Visit 3 ( July- Sept)  Visit 4 ( Oct- Dec) visit 5 ( Jan- mar)

Advanced Placement students (e.g LVNs and LPNs) for ADN/BSN will have one 2-week visit. If the LVN student is missing nursing transfer credits, they may require more than one visit- LVN/LPN students will need to submit their LVN/LPN transcripts for evaluation.

ADN and BSN ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Possession of a High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
  • Score at least a 62% on the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) or Successfully Passing the Institutionally administered Wonderlic Scholastic Exam with at least a 15.
  • Completion of Prerequisite courses:

Students in  the nursing programs are required to able to 

  1. Pass a Level 2 background screening (as defined in Section 435.04, Florida Statutes) and that the results of the student’s screening do not include any disqualifying offense as defined in Section 435.04(2)-(3), Florida Statutes. 
  2. Provide documentation of a satisfactory physical examination verified by a health care provider.
  3. Provide documentation showing that they are current on their immunizations. Titer reports for MMR, Varicella, and Hep B are required. Annual Flu and a Covid Vaccine may be required, and, in addition, students must complete TB testing (QuantiFERON-TB Gold and/or chest X-ray + Symptom Review Form), have a current TdaP, and complete an N95 Mask fit test.

PREREQUISITES:

Students should submit transcripts of prerequisite courses taken at other institutions for evaluation. Prerequisite transfer credits may also be granted for qualifying College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) course examinations.  American Council on Education, ACE courses, for example StraighterLine.com and Study.com, are also acceptable for transfer credit. There are no recency requirements for prerequisite courses.

Work-study is when a student is employed by the institution and will be placed at a nursing facility as a CNA or LVN working 16 hours every week for the entire duration of the program. The student elects that all earnings ( net pay) from work will go to institution to be applied towards tuition and in addition student makes supplemental installment payments.
